I have been a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) since 2007, and am a graduate of the 3,000 hour program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. Since Graduation I have worked in spas, multi disciplinary clinics and have been operating my own clinic since 2011. I have even returned to the college as a sessional teaching assistant and clinical supervisor.I have taken continuing education in osteopathic techniques, kinesiology taping, myofascial release, and pain education.
In 2012 I completed the 3 year Acupuncture program at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and became a Registered Acupuncturist (RAc). I have since travelled to McMaster University to train in Neurofunctional Acupuncture offered through the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program. I also have training in N.A.D.A., a protocol of auricular (ear) acupuncture used for treating a variety of conditions related to anxiety and stress.
I take pride in taking the time to get to know my clients and working hard to help them achieve their goals and improve their health and well being. I am a life long learner and I am always eager to share my knowledge about movement, pain education, exercise, diet etc.
*I will be starting a new career in January of 2018, and will only be available for Saturday appointments for existing patients. I thank all of you for your support over the last 10 years and leave you in Colleen's very capable hands!
Matt entered the field of massage therapy, as he saw firsthand the difference it could make in someone's life. His goal is to have a positive influence on the physical and mental health of his patients. He attempts to achieve this by utilizing an adaptable treatment approach, paying attention to detail, listening to the needs of clients and assessing the body itself. Matt also holds a Bachelor of Science from Simon Fraser University and spent several years working as a marine biologist.
When not at the clinic, you can find him exploring the many hiking trails in the area, navigating the ocean in his kayak, or tending to honey bees.
